Eastern Maine schools are looking for officials  for all sports. Come to this informational session with Ellsworth High School's Athletic Director, Josh Frost, to learn the benefits of becoming a referee and what it takes to be successful.

School sports in Maine fall under the direction of the Maine Principal’s Association. This organization oversees the sports of baseball, basketball, football, field hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, ice hockey, softball, soccer, swimming, track & field, volleyball and wrestling.

For each high school sport, the Maine Principal’s Association designates an individual as the contact person to assist anyone who wants to become a high school sports official.  Click here to find the contact person for your sport or sports.  The written certification exam is taken online through the NFHS testing site.  This is a live online workshop.

Josh Frost is an EHS alumni, he graduated in 1998 and is now the Athletic Administrator at EHS. He enjoys working for the community that he grew up in and giving student-athletes a chance to participate in the various extracurricular activities offered at EHS. He can also see the other side and knows that there is a shortage of sports officials. Josh says that if we continue to lose officials, we will no longer have sports. It is a big need across the state.
