Annie Sargent has gathered friends from around the globe, and in her backyard, who are eager to share their firsthand experiences in other countries (and Alaska, San Diego and Yosemite).  We will share photos, recipes, music history, reflections...anything that will give you the opportunity to learn about another culture in an informal way. This is a great winter to be an armchair traveler!

Everyone is volunteering their time, so you pay $15 and can join any and all of the sessions.  The schedule will be established soon and added here, so you'll know which countries are being highlighted on which week....

So far the list includes: Alaska, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, China, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Peru and more... sign up today!  This is a live online class.

Brush up on your Spanish Conversation Skills

This is an informal conversational class creating an opportunity for people with some Spanish to brush up on conversation.  While we are all spending more time at home, connecting with others with an interest in other languages and cultures can be a welcome distraction.  This is a live online course.

Gilda Garcia is a native of Guatemala and has extensive experience in human resources and training.  Upon arriving in the US, she began tutoring and realized she was passionate about sharing her language.

French for Beginners

This live online course is designed as a hands-on French enrichment class with an emphasis on conversation and learning basic and common phrases used in travel situations such as registering at a hotel, asking directions, and ordering food at restaurants. The course will cover French pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, as well as elements of French and North American French culture. A great option for beginners or those who would like to brush up on their French, prepare for a trip to a French-speaking country, or connect with French-speaking neighbors or customers. We will use the workbook French Made Simple by Pamela Rose Haze (new or used copies may be purchased on Amazon). This is a live online class.

This course is designed as a hands-on, conversation oriented Spanish enrichment class with emphasis on conversational Spanish.  Learn basic and common phrases used in travel situations, such as registering at a hotel, asking directions, ordering food at restaurants, bartering for souvenirs, as well as useful phrases for airports, train stations, buses and taxis. The course will cover grammar, vocabulary and most commonly used verbs in Spanish. A great option for folks preparing for a trip to a Spanish speaking country or people wanting to connect with Spanish speaking neighbors or customers! We will use the book Easy Spanish Step-by-Step by Barbara Bregstein (new or used copies may be purchased on Amazon).  This is a live online class.
