Fall 2022 Certified Nursing Assistant PLUS – Interest List

Ellsworth Adult Education offers a CNA course that meets Maine State requirements of 70 classroom, 20 lab, and 40 clinical hours. Upon successful completion of the course you sit for the State Registry Exam and if successful you’ll become a Maine State Certified CNA.  While other area programs are holding CNA programs this Spring we are planning a Fall 2022 program that will include the option of earning additional certificates in job readiness and digital literacy.  We will have more information about this program on our website by early Spring.  If you’re interested in learning more about CNA or other healthcare training opportunities, call us at 207.664.7110 and make a phone, zoom or in-person appointment.

This course certifies the student in cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills for adults, infants, and children as well as choking protocols. It also teaches competency in both Automated External Defibrillator use and Narcan.

This is a Pharmacy Technician Certificate program with PTCB National Certification. Work one-on-one with a Pharmacy Technician Trainer and entirely online with support from a Pharmacy Technician and Trainer. The Pharmacy Technician is one of the fastest growing jobs in healthcare today. In this course, 

he pharmacy setting, to the basic sciences at the core of pharmacy practice, to preparing for the PTCB     exam. You will learn complete drug information that    includes proper name, spelling and pronunciation, drug class, generic and trade name, route of administration, dosage and more for  hundreds of drugs. You will be able to identify pills on sight with pill photos, gain a better   understanding of how certain drugs work within the body with a concise review of relevant anatomy and physiology, and stay up-to-date with cutting-edge pharmacy practice with the latest information on new drugs, regulations, HIPAA guidelines and safety procedures. You will be ready to pass your PTCB national certification included in cost.  All materials included in fee, including National Certification Exam fee.  This course is offered live online with open enrollment.

Effective substitutes need to know how to access policies and procedures, facilities and lesson plans. They also need to understand the school culture and have a toolkit of instructional, classroom and behavior management strategies. This workshop addresses these topics for the Ellsworth Schools and will be followed-up by a tour at each building (by appointment).

Google docs is an invaluable and easy to use online tool similar to Microsoft Word. It's free, accessible from all devices and is super easy to share. Learn how to create documents, master useful formatting functions, share documents with others and more as time permits. This workshop will introduce you to these features and share resources for futher learning.  This is an in-person class.

You'll need a web-based gmail account for all these Google workhops and you will need to know your account username & password.  If you're not sure what this means PLEASE contact us before the start of the class and we'll be glad to assist you!  Google applications are free and are a practical way to learn programs without investing in software. 

 

Vanessa loves working with adult learners. She is really easy to be around and makes people extremely comfortable; she even makes learning math and computers fun! She is committed to helping adults discover their strengths, build their confidence, and realize they can accomplish their goals. In her free time, she loves to travel and explore the outdoors. Healthy Acadia's Tara Young is offering this invaluable practical and effective training to our community.  Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an intensive, two-day, in-person training where people are taught how to skillfully intervene, assist someone in crisis, and help them stay safe. The training is highly interactive and appropriate for anyone in the community who is 16 or older.  This is an in-person training.
