Offering effective technology instruction is a challenge.  In any class, you have people with different devices, software programs, learning sytles, levels of maturity, confidence and goals.  At Ellsworth Adult Education, we are continually striving to improve our offerings to serve the community.  

This Fall, we are still piloting a more individualized approach.  Using a telephone or email survey, we will work with you to assess your skills, resources and goals, and identify learning options that are the best fit for you.  There are many invaluable free online resources for improving technology skills.  

This program is offered by appointment, live online or in-person options available; ongoing enrollment.

This course is designed to help adults improve their reading, writing, proofreading, editing, and revising to prepare for standardized exams.  We cover the basics of grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph development, and will eventually write effective essays with clear ideas, smooth transitions, and logical support.  We will practice planning, research, prewriting, and organizing our writing.  Learning to proofread for punctuation, usage, content, and support will be emphasized.  This class is an in-person class; ongoing enrollment.

IC3 Digital Literacy Certification Information Session

If you have ever wanted to earn a certification to document your technology skills and knowledge, there is no time like the present. Thanks to the Maine Department of Education, this certification training and exam are available at no cost until March 2022. IC3 (Internet Core Competency Certification) Digital Literacy Certification is a global benchmark for basic computer literacy, including operating systems, hardware, software, and networks. The IC3 certifications tests concepts and skills that apply to almost any school or career pathway.  This course prepares you for the IC3 Certification exam using LearnKey curriculum and the support of a veteran adult education instructor.  The class will be designed based on student needs.

This program is offered by appointment, live online using ZOOM or in-person @ EAE.  Ongoing enrollment.
